Sinamalé Bridge, Bridge in the Maldives
The Sinamalé Bridge, also known as the Chinese-Maldivian Friendship Bridge, is a cross-sea bridge that connects the islands of Malé and Hulhulé.
Construction began in 2016 and was completed in August 2018.
The bridge symbolizes the strong relations between China and the Maldives.
It significantly reduces travel time between the two islands, benefitting locals and tourists alike.
Measuring at 2.1 kilometers, it is the first inter-island bridge in the Maldives.
