Great Wall of Gorgan, Ancient defensive wall in Iran
The Great Wall of Gorgan is one of the most impressive ancient military structures.
Built between 420s and 530s AD, it's the second-longest defensive wall in existence after the Great Wall of China.
It's also known as 'The Red Snake' due to its red-colored bricks.
The wall stretches over 195 km, with over 30 fortresses along its length.
Unlike other walls, it has a sophisticated system of canals, suggesting advanced knowledge of hydraulic engineering.
