Its name honors Sir William Edmond Logan, a Canadian geologist and founder of the Geological Survey of Canada.
Traditional territories of the Kluane First Nation surround Mount Logan.
The mountain is located within Kluane National Park and Reserve.
Mount Logan has the largest base circumference of any non-volcanic mountain on Earth.
