The Layer Pyramid is situated in the Giza Governorate.
It is believed to have been built during the 3rd Dynasty for the pharaoh Khaba.
Not as grand as the famous Giza pyramids, but an integral part of Egyptian history.
Currently not open for public tours, yet a fascinating site for archaeologists.
The Layer Pyramid remains one of the earliest attempts at large-scale cut-stone construction.
